What's going on!

It's been a while since June, when we did our last post!

I came here to bring some news regarding Re:Beginning!

As I told you guys on the last  post, we started working on the game again.  Well kinda... We are investing only 2 to 4 hours a week on it... But hey, we are working on it.

I came here to talk about the game engine and systems that we are making. As some of you already know, we started this project using Ren'py, but we didn't know how to use it, so we went to  Unity3D and we made the game more complex and full of bugs. We lost some core files by accident, and then some team members left the project.  We took some time off the project and I got some time to think about it.  Now we are back working on it with more time and free of pressure. 

This time we are using Ren'py again, but better.  We have been studying the engine truly, and we learned a lot about it. One of the things we are making now is an Emotion System. The emotion system will give and track characters stats and influence how they act around you.

For example, let's say you give a compliment to a character, let's say Anna.  This will alter her stats on how she sees you.

Example of code:

if response == "Compliment Anna":

    affection += 10

    show message "Anna blushes and smiles at you. You can tell she appreciates the compliment."

This will sound stupid but we didn't know how to make this :P Now we got more deeper it int and we are making it more dinamic :

For us this is great! It will open doors for more interesting systems in the future. But for now we gonna try to improve it. Besides the coding part, we have to remaster some assets because they didnt age well and fix some plot holes.  So while I can't promise a build release soon, what  I can say is that we are working on it!
